Theo Lawrence releases new single ‘I’ve Got A Mind For Loving You’

Paris-born and Texas-based artist Theo Lawrence has released his new single, “I’ve Got A Mind For Loving You,” available today via Warner Records / Reprise Records. The track features a blend of vibraphone and Spanish guitars and arrives during a milestone week for the breakout performer following his national television debut.

The recording process for the new single emphasized an intimate, live approach. “The recording came into form in a small circle, the band playing softly all gathered around the microphones in the most instantaneous way,” Lawrence said. The session included longtime collaborator Thibault Ripault on nylon string guitar, bassist Billy Horton, organist Joe Roddy, and engineer Alex Hall on drums and vibraphone.

Lawrence describes the track as “a song for when the one you love can do no wrong in your eyes.” The release follows his appearance on CBS Saturday Morning last weekend, where he performed “Lonely Too Long” and “California Poppy.” Both recent singles are slated to appear on Lawrence’s debut full-length project for Warner Records / Reprise Records, expected later in 2026.

Next week, Lawrence is scheduled to begin a coast-to-coast U.S. tour featuring more than 75 dates alongside Alison Krauss & Union Station. Having grown up in France influenced by classic American artists like Charlie Rich and Burt Bacharach, Lawrence has developed a sound that combines soul and timeless style, often described as a mix of French Riviera flourish and traditional American influences.
