Vocalist and songwriter Willow Avalon has released a new cover of Carly Simon’s song “You’re So Vain” as part of the Spotify Singles series. Recorded with an all-female band, the release follows the recent launch of her sophomore album, Pink Pocket Pistol, through Atlantic Outpost and Assemble Sound.
The 14-track album features several collaborative songs, including “Hypothetically Speaking” with Kaitlin Butts, “Hickest Woman” featuring Midland, and “Cardinal Sin” with Jason Isbell. The project follows her January 2025 debut release, Southern Belle Raisin’ Hell.
Avalon was raised in Georgia by her mother and grandmother, learning piano in church before teaching herself guitar at age 12. Now based in Nashville, the musician was named to the 2026 Grand Ole Opry NextStage class after previously performing on the Grand Ole Opry stage.
Her past live performances include appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and CBS Mornings, alongside sets at festivals such as Stagecoach, C2C, CMA Fest, and Lollapalooza. She has previously shared stages with artists including Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Zach Bryan, and Marcus King.
Avalon is currently on an extensive headline tour across North America through the fall, with stops scheduled at Webster Hall in New York, the Phoenix Theatre in Toronto, Royale in Boston, and the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. Later this fall, she is also scheduled to open for country duo Brooks & Dunn.
