Interscope Records announced the release of a new track titled “Street of Dreams” from the rock band U2. The song serves as the first track taken from the band’s upcoming studio album, which is scheduled for release later this year. The forthcoming project marks the group’s first new studio album in nine years.
The accompanying music video for the single was filmed in Mexico City during May. While in the city, the band members also attended the 2026 Street Child World Cup Finals Tournament at Parque Ecológico Lago de Texcoco. The video shoot took place near Plaza Santo Domingo and attracted a large crowd of onlookers despite poor weather conditions.
During the filming process, unexpected thunder and rain caused an on-site generator to crash. Following the power failure, a local family allowed the four band members into their apartment so the group could continue filming on their balcony.
The new track was produced by Jacknife Lee. The recording features the long-standing lineup of band members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr.
This upcoming September will mark 50 years since the musicians originally formed the group in Ireland. The band initially came together after Mullen posted a handwritten note looking for musicians on a noticeboard at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin.
The new single is currently available as a digital download and is streaming across digital service providers. The official music video has also been released for public viewing online.
