Tate’s Bake Shop has launched Drizzled Shortbread, a new cookie based on a longtime favorite from its original Southampton, N.Y., bake shop. It is the first time the brand’s shortbread is available to cookie lovers nationwide. The cookie leads the company’s largest holiday lineup to date, with six varieties.
Drizzled Shortbread is a thin cookie made with real butter and finished with a chocolate drizzle. Classic shortbread has been sold at the Southampton Bake Shop for decades. Jennifer Hull, head of marketing at Tate’s Bake Shop, said the team adapted one of the shop’s most beloved cookies “with the same quality and craft that we’re known for.”
Double Chocolate Peppermint Cookies are also new this season, pairing a rich chocolate base with peppermint. Gingersnap, made with ginger and molasses, and Chocolate Toffee, filled with caramelized toffee bits, return as seasonal favorites. Chocolate Chip and Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies round out the collection.
The company said Drizzled Shortbread took a year and a half to develop and went through a dozen recipe versions. It arrives as shortbread and butter cookies are the most popular cookie format of the season, and shortbread is among the fastest-growing segments in premium cookies, according to Nielsen. After the holidays, Drizzled Shortbread will join Tate’s permanent lineup.
Drizzled Shortbread comes in limited-edition metallic green packaging with a gold bow motif, while the other five varieties arrive in metallic packaging with a snowflake pattern. Tate’s suggests the cookies as host gifts or white elephant picks, or as additions to cheese boards, trifles and cookie pie crusts. They can also be paired with wine or hot chocolate.
The 2026 holiday cookie lineup is rolling out now to grocery stores nationwide, including Walmart, Whole Foods Market, Publix, Stop & Shop and Kroger. The full collection, along with gift baskets, gift boxes, and seasonal merchandise, is available on the Tate’s Bake Shop website.
