Sundance Mountain Resort has announced a terrain expansion for the 2026-2027 ski season that adds more than 100 acres to its back mountain area. The project introduces Electric Horseman, a high-speed quad lift, alongside a new 1.7-mile groomed ridge run named Storyteller.
The addition brings the resort’s total skiable terrain to 605 acres while concluding the first phase of its back mountain expansion plans. Additional expert terrain growth is planned for future seasons.
The Electric Horseman lift spans 1,850 vertical feet and reaches the top of the back mountain terrain in six minutes. The lift was designed to increase uphill capacity, reduce congestion, and provide direct access to the expanded area.
The new Storyteller run follows the terrain previously known as the Far East Ridgeline and is categorized as an upper-intermediate groomed trail. For advanced skiers, the expansion incorporates three new expert gladed chutes that wind through trees before connecting back to the base.
This expansion follows several major infrastructure projects completed at the resort since 2021, including the installation of the Outlaw Express Lift and enhanced snowmaking capabilities. The resort also opened 50 acres of intermediate terrain in 2022 and constructed the Mountain Camp Day Lodge two years later.
