Playa Bowls launched a nationwide fundraising campaign in partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Running from Sept. 29 through Nov. 2, the superfruit chain will donate a portion of sales from its pitaya menu items to support breast cancer research.
The initiative highlights three pitaya-based offerings: the Electric Mermaid Bowl, the Dragonberry Bowl, and the Pink Pitaya Smoothie. Pitaya is a nutrient-rich superfruit packed with essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that act as an anti-inflammatory booster.
The fundraising efforts culminate on Pink Pitaya Giving Day on Oct. 25, when Playa Bowls will donate $2 from every pitaya bowl sold nationwide directly to the organization. Throughout the campaign, guests can also make direct contributions in stores, through online ordering, or on the dedicated fundraising page.
Customers can purchase featured campaign items and contribute through digital ordering platforms or at brick-and-mortar shop locations nationwide. Additional fundraising options remain integrated into the online checkout process through the campaign’s end on Nov. 2.
Founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation is the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide. The organization funds studies focused on prevention, detection, treatment, survivorship, and metastatic disease.
