Mountain Shore Properties has opened Hill Hall Hotel, a 40-room boutique property located in downtown Fayetteville, West Virginia. The development sits near New River Gorge National Park and is housed within the town’s former 1923 stone high school and neighboring midcentury middle school buildings.
The restored historic campus features guest rooms, lounges, reading spaces, and a signature restaurant, with room configurations reflecting the original layouts of the academic structures. Hill Hall Hotel operates as a member of Design Hotels within the Marriott Bonvoy network.
Accommodations range from standard king and queen rooms to king suites, along with ADA-accessible options connected by ramps. Standard rates start at $225 per night, and complimentary parking is available on site. The property also allows up to two dogs per room for an additional daily fee.
The hotel includes an on-site dining venue, Patsy’s, named in honor of developer Stephen Wendell’s grandmother. Led by Executive Chef Jeffrey Toth and Sous Chef Paul Almond, the kitchen serves dinner Wednesday through Sunday and weekend brunch. The menu features regionally inspired dishes alongside a beverage program that includes a custom ale from Bridge Brew Works.
Guests also have access to Patsy’s Provisions, a 24-hour self-service pantry stocked with snacks, grab-and-go items, and local coffee options. Interior design details throughout the public areas and guest rooms incorporate deep green and neutral color palettes, custom artwork, vintage photographs, and hand-painted signage.
The property has established partnerships with local businesses to provide access to bicycle rentals, fitness facilities, climbing guides, paddleboarding, and nearby coworking spaces. Additional local travel information is available to guests through on-site regional guides.
