Morphy Auctions will host a three-day Firearms and Militaria auction featuring nearly 1,200 lots of antique and collectible items. The public event is scheduled to take place on September 15, 16, and 17 in Denver, Pennsylvania.
The sale includes a Colt 1921 Thompson submachine gun involved in an April 9, 1932 confrontation between Oklahoma Sheriff Ervin Kelly and gangster Charles “Pretty Boy” Floyd. The firearm carries a pre-sale estimate of $100,000 to $180,000.
Also featured is a 1874 Colt Single Action Army revolver with provenance to Michael Lang, a blacksmith for General George Custer’s 7th Cavalry regiment. The weapon, estimated between $40,000 and $60,000, retains its original parts and has remained with Lang family descendants for 120 years.
The auction offers several rare military firearms, including a World War II German C.G. Haenel MKb.42(H) machine gun estimated at $80,000 to $120,000. Additional lots feature a DWM Model 1902 American Eagle Cartridge Counter Luger from U.S. military trials, estimated at $85,000 to $125,000.
A North American Arms Company Limited Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol, manufactured in Quebec, Canada, carrying control number 1111 is also listed. The post-World War I Canadian pistol holds an estimated value between $60,000 and $80,000.
