C. F. Martin & Co. has announced the launch of two new signature acoustic guitars, the 00-18 Joe Bonamassa and the 00-10E Retro Joe Bonamassa. The new models are modeled after Bonamassa’s own 1937 Martin 00-18 shade-top instrument.
The collection marks the second collaboration between the guitar manufacturer and the blues-rock musician. The line includes a handcrafted model built in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, alongside an edition produced at the company’s facility in Navojoa, Mexico.
Both instruments feature a custom 1937-style sunburst finish and replicated top wear based on Bonamassa’s original pre-war guitar. Bonamassa noted that having two signature instruments built in Nazareth was an unexpected milestone in his career.
The Nazareth-built 00-18 Joe Bonamassa pairs a solid spruce top with genuine mahogany back and sides, Golden Era scalloped X-bracing, and faux tortoise binding. Bonamassa tested an early prototype in the studio directly against his original 1937 model before final production.
The 00-10E Retro Joe Bonamassa features a solid spruce top with solid sapele back and sides, scalloped spruce X-bracing, and a Performing Artist neck. It comes equipped with Martin E1 electronics, including volume, tone, and phase controls, alongside a built-in chromatic tuner.
The release follows recent musical projects from Bonamassa, including his live album The Spirit Of Rory Live From Corkand the tribute release B.B. King’s Blues Summit 100. Both new signature guitar models are available through authorized Martin dealers.
