A wrapped Keller Logistics tractor-trailer arrived in Times Square on August 20 for National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day. The truck bears the story of Jayden Miller, a 19-year-old who died from fentanyl poisoning, as part of a national awareness effort launched by Facing Fentanyl/ARMOUR Families, Keller Logistics Group, and the American Trucking Associations Trucking Cares Foundation.
Keller Driver Ambassadors Evette Montoya and Geneva Gausman operated the vehicle from Defiance, Ohio, to the New York City demonstration. The initiative was started after Jayden Miller’s mother, a customer of Keller Logistics, asked the company to help share her son’s story.
The wrapped tractor-trailer is equipped with naloxone, also known as Narcan, along with overdose response training materials and resources for affected families. Keller has trained 20 Driver Ambassadors stationed across its fleet to recognize the signs of an overdose and administer the life-saving medication.
Through the Hope Hits the Highway initiative, the project aims to utilize truck stops and rest areas to assist vulnerable populations. Trained professional drivers will be prepared to respond to overdoses they encounter on their routes across the country.
Bryan Keller, CEO of Keller Logistics Group, attended the event in Times Square alongside advocacy leaders. Facing Fentanyl/ARMOUR Families, founded by Andrea Thomas, advocates for national fentanyl awareness, while the Trucking Cares Foundation supports health and safety initiatives across the industry.
