HGTV will premiere “Big Bargain Holiday Showdown,” a new Christmas decorating competition series hosted by Olympic gold medalist figure skater Tara Lipinski. The six-episode series debuts Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 9 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.

In each episode, two teams of friends, family, or neighbors compete to show who has the most holiday spirit without blowing their budget. Each team gets 48 hours and $500 to turn one room in their home into a winter-themed wonderland. Designers Ashley Dixon and Clinton Tharp will help the teams with design hacks, custom projects, and smart spending.

Holiday artist, designer and Glitterville Studios founder Stephen Brown and interior designer and 37th Burleigh founder Pelar Fullilove will judge each round. The winning team gets bragging rights, a cash prize and a surprise from Santa.

“I’ve spent my whole life being judged on ice,” Lipinski said. “Now I’m trading the ice for a whole new type of winter competition to prove you don’t need a Santa-sized budget to make some serious holiday magic.”

The premiere pits two friendly design business rivals against each other as they create their own White Christmas. They will use glittering crafts and bargain finds to transform their homes into frosty settings.

Later episodes include themed challenges: 12 Days of Christmas, Naughty and Nice, Santa’s Workshop, Retro Christmas and Tartan Christmas.
