
The German HBO Original series 4 Blocks Zero will premiere on September 25. Serving as an eight-part prequel to the crime drama 4 Blocks, the show will release new episodes on a weekly basis.
Set in 1990s Berlin, the series focuses on the early years of the Hamady family after fleeing Lebanon. The narrative follows Malik Hamady, played by Rami Fadel Khalaf, as he navigates political, bureaucratic, and social challenges while trying to establish a life in Germany.
The plot develops when Malik’s brother-in-law Ibrahim, played by Tariq Al-Saies, returns to the family after serving eight years in prison. Ibrahim’s involvement in the criminal underworld impacts the family’s security and ongoing efforts to settle in the country.
The cast features Tareq Nassery as Ali, Soufiane El Mesaudi as Abbas, Fatima Khanfour as Hanin, Almountaser Alchltouh as Marwan, Siana Zayed as Amara, Mohammad Eliraqui as Latif, and Luis Vorbach as Vince Kerner. Additional cast members include Bella Dayne, Mohamed Kanj Khamis, Jule Hermann, Sevda Polat, Samir Salim, Enno Trebs, and Mark Waschke.
Bernd Lange served as head writer alongside scriptwriters Bahar Bektaş, Natalie Zoghbi, and Hassan Akkouch. The series was directed by Özgür Yıldırım and Hüseyin Tabak, with production handled by W&B Television for HBO Max.
