Eggo is expanding its frozen breakfast lineup this July with the nationwide release of Eggo Zero. The new product marks the brand’s first waffle option to feature zero grams of added sugar while maintaining its traditional golden-crispy texture.
The waffles are launch-ready in two traditional flavors, Buttermilk and Blueberry. The Buttermilk variety contains 12 grams of complete protein per serving, while the Blueberry option offers 11 grams of complete protein. Both options are formulated with zero artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners.
To achieve a lower sugar content without sacrificing flavor or texture, the brand utilizes monk fruit extract and stevia extract for sweetness. The complete protein utilized in the recipe includes all nine essential amino acids in the recommended amounts per gram of protein.
Consumers looking for alternative morning fuel options can also find complete protein in the existing Eggo Protein waffles and pancakes lineup. The new products are designed to be prepared straight from the toaster or served alongside fresh fruit.
The new product line rolls out to retail locations across the country next month. The waffles will be available in an eight-count box for a suggested retail price of $5.99.
