The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will explore the personal history and professional career of country music performer Kenny Chesney in a upcoming exhibition titled Kenny Chesney Living in Fast Forward. The biographical installation is scheduled to open to the public on July 23, 2026, and will remain on display through June 2027. Access to the collection is included with standard museum general admission tickets.

The displayed items will chronicle the musician’s professional development, from his early performances in a university bluegrass band to his stadium concert tours. Museum chief executive officer Kyle Young noted that the project highlights the artist’s commercial successes and his influence on expanding country music audiences. The exhibition artifacts will include stage clothing, instruments, song manuscripts, performance photographs, and industry awards.

Specific historical objects featured in the collection include a Fender Concord acoustic guitar that Chesney used during his enrollment at East Tennessee State University. The instrument features autographs from various country performers and songwriters encountered during his early career, including Porter Wagoner, Dean Dillon, and Harlan Howard. The exhibit also displays the physical wicker rocking chair that served as the creative inspiration for his 2004 composition Old Blue Chair.

Additional items document his childhood interest in sports and his later recording sessions. Visitors can view a mid-1980s varsity sports jacket from Gibbs High School alongside a handwritten chord chart used during the 2010 tracking sessions for the song You and Tequila. The museum will also display a plastic replica of a 235-pound blue marlin that served as an on-stage tour mascot after surviving the 2010 Nashville flood.

In conjunction with the exhibition launch, the facility will host related educational public programming inside the Ford Theater. On Saturday, July 25, music journalist Jon Freeman will host a live interview with record producer Buddy Cannon, who collaborated with Chesney on 17 studio albums. The historical presentation will integrate archived photographs, audio recordings, and video clips documenting their recording work together.
