Apple TV released the official trailer and key art on September 29, 2026, for its upcoming crime drama series Nocturne. The 10-episode series will premiere globally on Friday, October 30, 2026, with its first two episodes, followed by weekly episode releases every Friday through December 25, 2026.
Based on the crime novel The Sandman by Lars Kepler, the story follows former soldier Jonah Lynn, played by Liev Schreiber, who relocates to a small town in Western Pennsylvania to work as a homicide detective. The plot centers on Lynn attempting to protect his family and community from serial killer Jurek Walter, portrayed by Stephen Graham, while sending FBI Agent Saga Bauer, played by Zazie Beetz, to locate Walter’s last missing victim.
The cast features an ensemble including Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan, and Gary Carr. The series was created for television, written, and co-showrun by Rowan Joffé, alongside co-showrunner and writer John Hlavin, with Tim Van Patten directing the first two episodes.
Viewers can stream the series on Apple TV upon its initial two-episode release on October 30, 2026. Access to the show will be available across supported digital devices with an active subscription to the platform.
A+E Studios produced the series in association with Range Studios, with executive producers including Schreiber, Beetz, Joffé, Hlavin, and book author Lars Kepler, the pen name for Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril. The underlying Joona Linna novel series has sold 20 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 40 languages across 170 territories.
