Amy Grant releases ‘The Me That Remains,’ her first original studio album in 13 years

Six-time Grammy winner and Kennedy Center Honoree Amy Grant has released The Me That Remains, marking her first collection of original songs since 2013.
The 10-track album, released via Thirty Tigers, was produced by Mac McAnally. The project follows a period of significant personal challenges for Grant, including open-heart surgery and a life-altering bicycle accident, events that heavily influenced the record’s themes of healing and endurance.
“I had so much fun going back into the studio again and making this project with Mac,” Grant said. “I feel like this project freed me from expectations that I didn’t even know I had.”

The title track, “The Me That Remains,” serves as the emotional centerpiece, with lyrics directly addressing her recent health journey. Other tracks include “How Do We Get There From Here,” featuring Ruby Amanfu, which Grant wrote as a call for compassion following the 2023 Covenant School shooting in Nashville. The album also features collaborations with Michael W. Smith, Vince Gill, and Corrina Gill.
McAnally’s stripped-down production focuses on a singer-songwriter aesthetic, a style previewed in the track “The 6th of January (Yasgur’s Farm).” The visual art for the album, created by Wayne Brezinka, is a mixed-media collage using fragments from Grant’s life, including family photos and her childhood Bible.
Grant, who has sold more than 30 million albums throughout her 50-year career, is celebrating the release with a special performance at the Ryman Auditorium tonight. She is scheduled to follow the show with a summer tour including stops in New York, Chicago, and Boston.
