More than 630 members of American Coaster Enthusiasts are gathering this week for Coaster Con 48. The annual convention celebrates roller coasters, friendship, and amusement park history during World Roller Coaster Appreciation Month. Attendees from across the United States and around the world will participate in the six-day event.
The convention itinerary spans three host parks, including Six Flags New England in Massachusetts, Lake Compounce in Connecticut, and The Great Escape in New York. Each of the chosen venues features an officially designated Roller Coaster Landmark. This provides attendees with a specific opportunity to experience historically significant rides during a single convention.
Lake Compounce features classic rides such as Wildcat alongside modern roller coasters like Boulder Dash. The convention schedule also incorporates a fundraising tradition at The Great Escape on June 25. Known as the Rubber Ducky Regatta, the charity event is currently entering its 10th anniversary year.
Additional scheduled activities include the organization’s annual business meeting, the Midway Olympics, and dedicated photo and video contests. A silent auction, regional member meetups, and an annual banquet are also part of the weekly programming. Michael Graham, a principal of the ride design firm The Gravity Group, is scheduled to serve as the keynote speaker.
The gathering coincides with the ongoing 2026 national election for the organization’s leadership. Candidates seeking national positions will deliver platform presentations to members on June 23. Voting in the election remains open to the membership through July 15.
