HBO and NFL Films announced Tuesday that the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks will be the focus of this summer’s edition of “Hard Knocks,” the long-running sports documentary series.

The five-episode season, titled “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks,” is scheduled to premiere Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available for streaming on Max. New episodes will air each Tuesday through the season finale on Sept. 8.

The production marks the first time since the show’s 2001 debut with the Baltimore Ravens that the series has followed a defending Super Bowl champion during training camp.

The 19-time Sports Emmy-winning franchise will provide all-access coverage from the Seahawks’ facility in Renton. Featured figures include head coach Mike Macdonald, quarterback Sam Darnold, and 2025 Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba, along with defensive stars Devon Witherspoon and Byron Murphy II.

The series will once again be narrated by actor Liev Schreiber.

Looking further ahead, the NFL and HBO also confirmed that the New England Patriots, the Super Bowl LX runners-up and six-time league champions, are slated to headline the training camp series in August 2027.

Since its inception 25 years ago, “Hard Knocks” has documented the preseason preparations of numerous franchises, most recently featuring the Chicago Bears in 2024 and the Buffalo Bills in 2025. This will be the Seahawks’ first appearance on the program.
