Icona Pop releases new single ‘Ritual’ featuring Daya, announces tour with Meghan Trainor

Swedish pop duo Icona Pop has released a new single, “Ritual,” featuring Daya, marking the group’s latest musical release.
The track, released via Ultra Records and Iconic Sound Recordings, is accompanied by an official music video directed by Gustav Stegfors. “Ritual” blends high-energy production with introspective themes, exploring healing, resilience, and emotional release through music and movement.
Driven by a pulsing beat and reflective lyrics, the song centers on the idea of personal rituals as a means of survival and self-reclamation. The duo described the track as inspired by a period of personal challenges and growth, emphasizing themes of transformation and connection.
“When one of our best friends was going through a crisis, she went to a shaman in New York and searched for answers,” the group said in a statement, noting that the experience helped shape the song’s message.
Daya said she was drawn to the collaboration for its “fresh and inspiring energy,” adding that the track encourages listeners to “dance and sweat at the club all night.”
In support of the release, Icona Pop is scheduled to appear at the Daybreaker HEATWAVE event in New York on April 23 for a special performance.
The duo also will join Meghan Trainor on “The Get In Girl Tour,” a 33-date North American run produced by Live Nation. The tour begins June 12 and will include stops in major cities such as Boston, Chicago, Nashville, and Los Angeles.
“Ritual” is Icona Pop’s first new release since its 2023 album CLUB ROMANTECH, which marked the group’s return to full-length projects after a decade.
Known for blending pop and electronic music with emotionally driven themes, Icona Pop continues to evolve its sound while maintaining a focus on creating music that encourages connection and release on the dance floor.
