Sight & Sound’s “Joshua—Live!” arrives in theaters nationwide Oct. 30

“Joshua—Live!” will open in movie theaters nationwide Oct. 30, 2026. Roadside Attractions is releasing the film, which was shot at a live performance of Sight & Sound’s new stage production.

The production tells the story of Joshua, who is called to replace Moses as leader of the Israelites. As supplies dwindle and armies approach, one fortified city stands between the people and the Promised Land. Unexpected help emerges from behind enemy lines, and Joshua’s trust in God’s plan is tested.

Cameras covered Sight & Sound’s 300-foot wraparound stage to capture each scene up close. The show features an original gospel-infused soundtrack, special effects and live animal actors, including camels, horses, donkeys, llamas, pigs, sheep and goats. Creative Producer Ryan Miller said the story is about learning to trust before the walls of Jericho fall.

The release is part of Sight & Sound’s 50th anniversary and is the second theatrical project with Roadside Attractions, following “A Great Awakening.” Katie Miller, vice president of brand development at Sight & Sound, said not everyone can travel to the theaters, so the film brings the message to local movie theaters.

Sight & Sound is one of the nation’s largest faith-based entertainment companies. Its original stage productions draw more than 1.5 million people each year at its theaters in Lancaster, Pa., and Branson, Mo. Including streaming and feature films, the company reaches more than 4 million guests worldwide annually.
