Olivia Rodrigo released a remix of her song “expectations” featuring Chappell Roan on Oct. 15 through Interscope Records. It is Roan’s first-ever feature. Dan Nigro, a collaborator of both artists, produced the remix.
The official music video, directed by Bardia Zeinali, shows Rodrigo and Roan as rival contestants on “The Big Expectations Show.” The retro game show moves through games inspired by 1980s and 1990s game shows. David Byrne hosts, and Nigro makes a special appearance.
The original “expectations” is from Rodrigo’s third studio album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.” The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 485,000 units in its first week, and was the biggest solo debut of 2026. It topped the charts in 17 countries.
The remix is available in physical formats, including limited edition 7-inch vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. They are sold through both artists’ online stores.
Both artists are involved in charity work. Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival on Aug. 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California, raised $20 million for 10 nonprofits that support women and girls. Roan will host The Super Graphic Spectacular and The Super Graphic Block Party, a two-day fundraiser in Los Angeles later in October. Net ticket proceeds will go to The Midwest Princess Project, which Roan launched in 2025 to support trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities.
Rodrigo’s sold-out Unraveled Tour began in September and has sold more than 1 million tickets worldwide.
