Beck released his new album, Ride Lonesome, on September 18 through Capitol Records. The project was produced by Beck and mixed by Nigel Godrich.
The album features contributions from musicians who previously recorded with Beck on Sea Change, Morning Phase, and Mutations, including Smokey Hormel, Joey Waronker, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Roger Joseph Manning Jr., and Jason Falkner. Recording sessions took place at Room B at United Studios in Hollywood.
To accompany the album launch, a music video for the song “Run Away” premiered online. Directed by Mikai Karl and produced by Ryan Smale, the video stars Golden Globe-winning actor Tadanobu Asano and features parallel narrative storylines set in Tokyo.
The release marks Beck’s latest full-length project following his 2015 Grammy Album of the Year winner, Morning Phase. The production reunites him with Godrich, who previously mixed his albums Sea Change and Mutations.
Beck will support the new release with a North American tour beginning September 22 at the Santa Barbara Bowl. The tour will feature performances in theaters across the continent before concluding on November 10 at the Keller Auditorium in Portland, Oregon.
