The American Red Cross, Metallica, and the band’s foundation, All Within My Hands, are opening a pop-up blood donation center in Las Vegas. The Red Cross x Metallica Blood Donation Experience, sponsored by Delta Air Lines, opens on Sept. 28 at Fashion Show Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip.
Running through March 19, 2027, the site gives donors a backstage-style experience tied to the band’s upcoming Las Vegas residency. Visitors have the opportunity to sit at a replica drum set similar to the TAMA kit used by founding member Lars Ulrich during the WorldWired Tour.
All donors at the location will receive a limited-edition T-shirt designed by Squindo while supplies last. Participants will also be automatically entered into a drawing to win the TAMA replica drum kit and will have access to post-donation refreshments in the Delta Backstage Lounge.
Through mid-November, the donation center will operate Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., with the schedule for mid-November through March to follow. Appointments can be made through the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, online, or by phone.
The partnership expands on a initiative launched in April 2025 during the U.S. leg of Metallica’s M72 Tour and the Give Where You Live campaign. That collaboration resulted in more than 25,000 blood donations in the U.S. and approximately 93,000 total donations worldwide across the M72 World Tour.
