Queens of the Stone Age fans can now stream the band’s concert film Alive in the Catacombs and its companion documentary Alive in Paris and Before for free on YouTube.

Filmed in July 2024, Alive in the Catacombs captures the band performing deep within the atmospheric underground ossuary of Paris, a 200-mile network of tunnels lined with the skeletal remains of millions of people. Lead singer Joshua Homme called it “the biggest audience we’ve ever played for,” noting he had dreamed of performing in the Catacombs for nearly 20 years. Permission from the city of Paris was required before the band could realize the vision.

The companion documentary, directed by Andreas Neumann, takes viewers behind the scenes, showing the emotional and physical challenges the band faced while creating the concert film.

Previously, both films were available for purchase directly from the band, on the Criterion Channel and through limited worldwide theatrical screenings. Fans still have the option to buy digital copies or stream the audio on all major platforms.

The Catacombs show was part of the band’s 2025 “Catacombs Tour,” which concluded last month, featuring new arrangements crafted specifically for the tour. Critics praised the performances, with the London Standard calling the Royal Albert Hall show “a stunning show from a superlative band” and NME describing it as a “once-in-a-lifetime set.”

Queens of the Stone Age also performed on the Austin City Limits stage for the first time in a decade, delivering a three-act performance with a nine-piece orchestra. That episode is set to air on PBS on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. CT/8 p.m. ET, with full episodes available for streaming on PBS.org and the PBS app.
