Olivia Rodrigo has released her latest single, “serena joy”, available globally today. The release follows an exclusive physical CD debut on Aug. 21, 2026, at Analog Records in Orange County, California.
Written by Rodrigo alongside longtime collaborator Dan Nigro during the sessions for her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, the track features a protest-inspired, punk-driven sound. A portion of the net proceeds from the single will go to the Daisy Chain Fields Fund, which supports women and girls.
The initial physical distribution at Analog Records served as a prelude to the Daisy Chain Fields festival while continuing Rodrigo’s ongoing support of independent record stores. Nearly 200 independent record shops previously hosted midnight sale events for her latest album release.
Rodrigo is set to perform the new song live for the first time on Aug. 29, 2026, at the sold-out Daisy Chain Fields festival, taking place at Great Park in Irvine, California. The event features an all-women lineup of artists alongside community nonprofit organizations.
The singer recently released her third studio album in June 2026, which debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. She is preparing to launch a sold-out international concert run, The Unraveled Tour, starting in September.
