Two-time Grammy-winning artist Laufey will host the fourth annual “A Very Laufey Day” on August 23, with events planned across more than 75 cities and 25 countries. This year’s theme, “A Celebration of the Arts,” focuses on music, film, dance, theater, visual arts, and literature. The initiative includes live performances from symphony orchestras, ballet, jazz, opera, and theater, along with activities at local libraries, museums, bookstores, and cafes.
As part of the global programming, Fever’s Candlelight concert series will present string quartet performances in 10 cities, featuring classical arrangements of Laufey’s songs alongside selections from her album A Matter of Time. Additionally, screenings of her concert film, A Night at the Symphony: Hollywood Bowl, will take place at the Clive Davis Theater in the Grammy Museum and at select AMC Theatres locations.
Museums including the Guggenheim New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Reykjavík Art Museum, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, and Daelim Museum will offer curated guides, ticket discounts, or themed cafe items. Participating bookstores, cafes, and ice cream shops will sell limited-edition merchandise, specialty drinks, and themed ice cream flavors.
The event expands on last year’s library card partnership, launching over 50 collaborative library cards with systems such as Broward County, Harris County, and Mesa, Arizona, ahead of Laufey’s role as the American Library Association’s Library Card Sign Up Month Spokesperson in September.
Net proceeds from official brand collaborations and merchandise sales will benefit the Laufey Foundation to support arts access. Official brand partners for the event include Maman, Moomin x NY Botanical Garden, AMC Theatres, Candlelight, Etsy, Pinterest, and Studs.
