Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has brought back its annual Give a Hoof campaign for August 2026. The month-long initiative supports the rescue, shelter, and care of wild and abandoned donkeys, which served as the original inspiration for the brand’s name.

This year’s fundraising effort introduces a limited-edition coffee blend called “Viejo,” named after a rescued donkey. Selling for $25 per bag online and at participating locations while supplies last, $5 from each purchase goes directly to sanctuary partners.

Proceeds from the 2026 campaign will be distributed among three donkey rescue organizations: Longhopes Donkey Shelter in Colorado, Leilani Farm Sanctuary in Hawaii, and new partner Oscar’s Place in California. The company aims to raise at least $20,000 across the month.

“We are excited to add a new element to our program to raise more funds for to rescue donkey’s,” said Iain Douglas, Chief Brand and Strategy Officer for Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. “Veijo is the prized rescue of our new partner Oscar’s Place, led by a wonderful gentleman in Ron King.”

In addition to buying the limited-edition blend, customers can participate by rounding up their in-store purchases at participating locations or making direct donations in stores and online. The campaign operates under Bad Ass For Good, the brand’s primary philanthropic initiative.
