High school students enrolled in the Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass program have completed more than 12 million workouts so far this summer. The annual initiative offers free gym access to teenagers between the ages of 14 and 19 across participating locations in the United States and Canada.

Running through August 31, the program gives eligible teens access to strength and cardio equipment, certified trainer guidance, and on-demand workouts via the company app. Participants must register for a specific location, with parental consent required for those under the age of majority.

Recent survey data fielded by Planet Fitness among more than 1,000 participating teens and parents showed noticeable shifts in daily habits. Nearly 90 percent of surveyed teens reported spending less time on their phones, while 93 percent noted an improved mood following exercise.

The survey also highlighted social and long-term trends among participants, with over half reporting that they work out with a friend and 20 percent going with a sibling. Furthermore, more than 80 percent of enrolled teens attend the gym two or more times per week, and a majority of parents noted the program has sparked wellness conversations at home.

The High School Summer Pass program operates across more than 2,900 independently owned and operated locations. As part of the current initiative, registered participants also receive a limited-time apparel discount code through a partnership with gym wear brand Gymshark.
