The country-rock trio Deltona has released a new single titled “The Country” through the label The Core Records. The track made its debut in conjunction with the Fourth of July holiday weekend alongside an official visualizer video.
Vocalist Ned Abernathy, guitarist Caleb Miller, and drummer Chris Deaton wrote the song in collaboration with songwriters Dan Agee and Nick Wayne. The lyrics focus on small-town southern life, referencing specific regional elements such as two-lane roads, single-pump gas stations, and trucks.
Producer Jason Massey handled production duties for the single, which incorporates banjo riffs, prominent guitar parts, and heavy rhythms. The track follows the band’s previous summer releases, including last month’s single “Let It Burn” and a May release titled “Party’s In The Back.”
The trio consists of musicians from three different states who originally met during a writers’ round event at the Bluebird Café in Nashville. Abernathy originates from Georgia, while Miller represents Ohio and Deaton comes from Tennessee.
The band recently completed a series of live performance dates opening for established country music artists Lee Brice, Jordan Davis, and Avery Anna. Deltona is currently scheduled to perform an upcoming live concert at The Beat Box in East Liverpool, Ohio, on August 8.
