Ancient Crunch, the corporate parent company of the snack brands MASA and Vandy, has expanded its retail distribution into Whole Foods Market locations. The product rollout places the company’s items into 400 storefronts across the United States. The commercial expansion is part of a broader corporate strategy to increase national availability within the organic and premium grocery retail sector.
The manufacturing company specializes in snack foods prepared using animal fats instead of industrial seed oils. The MASA product line consists of traditional corn tortilla chips produced from organic, nixtamalized corn that are fried exclusively in grass-fed and finished beef tallow. The Vandy brand utilizes a similar production method to manufacture kettle-style potato chips cooked in beef tallow and seasoned without artificial food additives or industrial fillers.
The new retail rollout encompasses four core product flavors distributed across both snack lines. Whole Foods Market locations will stock the original and lime variations of the MASA tortilla chips, alongside the original and french onion flavors of the Vandy potato chips. Company co-founders Seth Goldstein and Steven Rofrano stated that the placement within the natural foods grocery chain aligns with their ongoing business goal to distribute foods made with traditional sourcing methods.
The recent distribution agreement increases the overall retail presence of the snack lines to more than 3,000 storefronts nationwide. Existing retail partners currently stocking the items include Sprouts, Target, Erewhon, Bristol Farms, Citarella, and The Fresh Market. The products are also distributed through regional independent grocers such as Meadow Lane, Happier Grocery, SunLife Organics, Nude Miami, Butterfields, and Pavilions.
In addition to traditional brick-and-mortar storefronts, the snack inventory is sold digitally through the Amazon e-commerce platform. Corporate representatives indicated that the business is scheduled to finalize contracts with additional national retail partners later in 2026. The initial inventory shipments have already begun arriving at regional distribution centers to support the current 400-store launch.
