Vermont-based musician Noah Kesey has released his latest single, titled “Moth.” The new track utilizes an upbeat pop-rock structure layered over underlying melancholic chords and melodies. Lyrically, the song presents a stream-of-consciousness narrative that explores the interpersonal dynamics and emotional complexities of an undefined relationship.
The track arrived fully formed during a period of creative frustration for the songwriter. Kesey noted that while the lyrics are sourced from specific thoughts, the overarching narrative represents a fantasy vignette. The theme specifically examines the grey zone that exists between two individuals navigating a situationship.
An accompanying official music video filmed during a Vermont winter was released alongside the track to support the single. The visual project features footage captured on the road and inside a gun shop. This imagery draws a direct thematic parallel to a specific musical refrain regarding unintended relationships.

The Burlington artist previously issued his 2024 extended play, titled Holding Hands Around the World. That project was distributed through the Philadelphia indie record label Julia’s War. His recording projects have garnered critical acknowledgments from music publications, including Stereogum and Seven Days Vermont.
Kesey originally began releasing musical projects under his own name in 2021. This solo work followed years spent as a key creative collaborator, writer, and recording musician for regional Vermont acts Lily Seabird and Greg Freeman. His past collaborative contributions include work on the albums I Looked Out and Byside Myself.
The musician’s overall body of work sits at the intersection of indie rock, shoegaze, and pop-rock. His signature style combines distinct melodic instincts with distortion and a melancholic undertow. The artist continues to maintain an active presence on both the regional and national live music circuits.
