Sony debuts Bravia 9 II and 7 II true rgb televisions alongside theater trio audio system

Sony introduces two BRAVIA® True RGB televisions, the new flagship BRAVIA 9 II TV, the BRAVIA 7 II TV, as well as the BRAVIA Theater Trio, a next-generation home audio system engineered to complement large screen cinematic viewing.

Sony Electronics has introduced its first True RGB televisions, debuting the flagship BRAVIA 9 II, the BRAVIA 7 II, and a matching wireless audio system called the BRAVIA Theater Trio. The new hardware focuses on color accuracy and glare reduction, using technology developed alongside film industry professionals.

The televisions run on an RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro system. This architecture controls individual red, green, and blue light sources independently to maximize color volume. Yoshihiro Ono, Head of Home Entertainment Business Unit for Sony Corporation, noted that the system combines independent LED control with aspects of Mini LED and OLED technologies to maintain picture accuracy in bright environments.

Both display models offer integrated Google TV with Gemini capabilities for tailored responses, alongside AI-powered Voice Zoom 3 dialogue enhancement. The physical design features a wave-textured bezel and a transparent center stand to hide cabling.

The flagship BRAVIA 9 II includes specialized LED controllers for advanced backlight management, a glare-free “Immersive Black Screen Pro” treatment evaluated by Sony Pictures Entertainment, and up-firing beam tweeters. The model line offers a 115-inch class version scheduled for release this fall at $30,999.99 USD, with smaller 65-inch to 85-inch options starting at $3,599.99 USD.

The mid-tier BRAVIA 7 II features sizes ranging from a 50-inch class up to a 98-inch class model. The 50-inch and 98-inch versions are scheduled to arrive this summer, with overall tier pricing spanning from $1,599.99 USD to $8,999.99 USD. Both the 9 II and 7 II series support Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and IMAX Enhanced formats.

For audio, the $2,199.99 USD BRAVIA Theater Trio wireless system utilizes a three-speaker layout optimized for large screens. Developed with Sony Pictures Entertainment sound designers Andrew DeCristofaro and Tony Lamberti, the system employs 360 Spatial Sound Mapping to simulate up to 24 phantom speakers. It features a USB-C microphone for room calibration and can connect directly to optional wireless subwoofers without a central soundbar.

On the sustainability front, the units incorporate recycled materials, including Sony’s proprietary SORPLAS plastic. The BRAVIA 9 II specifically introduces a renewable plastic component made from used cooking oil and renewable feedstocks, which is utilized in the rear cover and specific internal optical parts.
