The Strokes announce seventh studio album ‘Reality Awaits’ for June release
The Strokes announced Tuesday that their seventh studio album, Reality Awaits, is scheduled for release on June 26 via Cult Records and RCA Records.
The band also debuted the album’s first single, “Going Shopping,” marking their first new music since the 2020 release of “The New Abnormal.” The new project was recorded in Costa Rica with producer Rick Rubin and finalized at various locations around the world.
The announcement precedes a busy festival season for the New York-based rock group. The Strokes are scheduled to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this weekend and next, followed by headlining appearances at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Japan’s Summer Sonic 2026.
Since their 2001 debut, “Is This It,” the band has remained a central figure in the rock genre. The upcoming LP follows years of extensive global touring in support of their previous Grammy-winning effort.
