‘The Madison’ becomes Taylor Sheridan’s biggest series debut with 8 million views on Paramount+

The new drama series The Madison has become the biggest debut season launch for creator Taylor Sheridan, drawing 8 million global views in its first 10 days on Paramount+.
The six-episode series premiered on March 14 and quickly rose to become the most-watched first season of any Sheridan project to date. According to data from Luminate, The Madison ranked as the No. 1 original streaming season by views during its first week of release.
The series also marked Sheridan’s most-watched debut among women ages 35 and older, further expanding the audience reach of the prolific television creator.
The Madison, which has already been renewed for a second season, follows a New York City family navigating grief and connection after relocating to Montana’s Madison River Valley. The show contrasts the landscapes of rural Montana with the energy of Manhattan while exploring themes of family and resilience.
The series stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, alongside a cast that includes Patrick J. Adams, Matthew Fox, and Will Arnett.
Critics have responded positively to the series, with Parade calling it “deeply emotional, poignant, and powerful,” while Variety praised Pfeiffer’s performance as a standout.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios, and Bosque Ranch Productions, the series is executive produced by Sheridan along with a team that includes Pfeiffer and Russell. All six episodes of the first season are directed by Christina Alexandra Voros.
The Madison adds to Sheridan’s growing slate of successful series, further cementing his position as one of television’s most influential creators in the streaming era.
