Award-winning comedian and actor Ramy Youssef will return to HBO this month with his third hour-long stand-up special, “Ramy Youssef: In Love,” the network announced Friday.

The special is scheduled to premiere on April 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available for streaming on Max. Filmed before an intimate audience at The Hideout, a historic Prohibition-era bar in Chicago, the performance features Youssef navigating a range of personal topics, including marriage, religion, and the advent of artificial intelligence.

“Ramy has this rare ability to make a room feel like it’s just you and him and then uses that closeness to say something that catches you completely off guard,” said Nina Rosenstein, executive vice president of HBO Programming. “Filming inside a small bar in Chicago only deepens that intimacy.”

The special was directed and executive-produced by Christopher Storer, the creator of the Emmy-winning series “The Bear.” Youssef recently received a Directors Guild of America Award nomination for directing the “Honeydew” episode of that series.

The premiere follows a prolific year for Youssef, who received Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice nominations in 2025 for his previous HBO special, “More Feelings.” He also recently starred in the Academy Award-nominated film “Poor Things” and launched the adult animated series “#1 Happy Family USA” on Prime Video.

Youssef is best known as the creator and star of the Peabody Award-winning Hulu series “Ramy,” for which he won a Golden Globe in 2020. Through his production company, Cairo Cowboy, Youssef has focused on developing narratives that highlight emerging Muslim talent, including the Gotham Award-winning series “Mo.”

“In Love” is a Cairo Cowboy production, written and executive produced by Youssef, with executive producers Tyson Bidner and Josh Senior.
