Queens of the Stone Age will release their ninth studio album, Perfecth, on October 30 through Matador Records. The upcoming release follows the band’s previous album, In Times New Roman…, which debuted in 2023.
The group has released the album’s lead single, “Insignificant Other,” which was recorded in two takes by band members Joshua Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita, and Jon Theodore. Frontman Joshua Homme described the track as a song exploring distance and the feeling of someone vanishing from one’s life.
An accompanying music video directed by Chapman Baehler was released alongside the announcement, featuring Big Chongus alongside Ruby Homme, Max Homme, Pumpkin Van Leeuwen, Isabella Puppolini (Izzy) Van Leeuwen, and Reesa Shuman. The group previously teased the project with a Five Finger Filet video that revealed dates when the album would not be released.
The nine-track record was produced by Homme and Shuman, with recording sessions taking place in Los Angeles and New Orleans. Homme altered the traditional spelling of the word “perfect” for the album title to reflect the concept that perfection does not exist.
Matador Records will issue Perfecth on standard CD and black vinyl, alongside a clear vinyl edition for independent retailers. A limited deluxe edition gatefold LP package featuring handwritten lyrics, stationery, stamps in a custom envelope, and custom artwork will also be available through the band and label webstores.
Prior to the announcement of “Insignificant Other,” the band released the single “Easy Street,” featuring guest vocalist Nikki Lane, and launched a dedicated telephone complaint hotline. Homme also recently appeared on collaborations with Shania Twain on the track “Faded Blue Jeans” and provided guest vocals for Mastodon’s “Snakes for Dinner.”
Queens of the Stone Age will resume their North American stadium tour with Foo Fighters on September 15. The group has also scheduled fall headline dates across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore, with additional headline performances planned for 2027.
