Three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Megan Thee Stallion made her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, taking on the role of Harold Zidler in the Tony Award-winning production at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

The performance marked a milestone for the production, as Megan Thee Stallion becomes the first female-identifying performer to portray Zidler in any staging of the musical worldwide. Her run is scheduled as a limited engagement through mid-May.

Recording artist Kelsie Watts also made her debut in the production, stepping into the role of Satine. The pair performed before a sold-out audience that included celebrities such as Queen Latifah and Tiffany Haddish.

Based on the film by Baz Luhrmann, Moulin Rouge! The Musical has been a major Broadway success, earning 10 Tony Awards, including best musical. The stage production is directed by Alex Timbers, with a book by John Logan and choreography by Sonya Tayeh.

The musical brings the story of the famed Parisian cabaret to life with a mash-up score spanning more than a century of popular music. Since opening, the production has reached millions of audience members across multiple global productions, including Broadway, touring companies, and international stages.
