Lou Gramm, the legendary vocalist best known as the former frontman of Foreigner, has released a new single, “Time Heals the Pain,” ahead of his upcoming solo album Released, due out March 27.
The emotionally driven rock ballad marks the third single from the self-produced project and highlights Gramm’s signature vocals over sweeping melodies and layered keyboards. The track reflects on themes of love, reconciliation and the healing passage of time.
“Time Heals the Pain” was written by Gramm alongside longtime collaborator Bruce Turgon, a former bandmate from Gramm’s early group Black Sheep. The song builds from introspective verses into a soaring chorus, blending tenderness with the arena-ready sound that defined Gramm’s earlier work.
Released represents the completion of a long-awaited chapter in Gramm’s solo catalog. Produced by Gramm with associate producer Matthew Gramm, the album features 10 original songs co-written with Turgon. Many of the tracks were originally recorded during the late 1980s following Gramm’s solo albums Ready or Not (1987) and Long Hard Look(1989) and have recently been revisited and completed.
According to the album’s producers, the recordings maintain the analog warmth and grit of the original sessions while incorporating updated production for added clarity.
Born in Rochester, New York, Gramm rose to international prominence after joining guitarist Mick Jones to form Foreigner in 1976. The band went on to release a string of multi-platinum albums and hit singles, including classics such as “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded” and “I Want to Know What Love Is.”
Alongside his work with Foreigner, Gramm also achieved solo success with songs including “Midnight Blue” and “Just Between You and Me.” In 2024, Gramm was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Foreigner.
With Released, Gramm delivers his third solo studio album, completing what he considers a trilogy of solo work while reconnecting with the sound and songwriting that helped define his career.
Gramm is expected to tour throughout 2026 in support of the album, including solo shows and select appearances with Foreigner. Additional tour dates are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Released will be available in digital formats, Dolby Atmos, CD through HNE Recordings and Cherry Red Records, and on vinyl via Friday Music.
