Food Network is launching new seasons of its Halloween competition series, Halloween Wars and Halloween Baking Championship, starting in September. Episodes of both programs will stream on HBO Max the day after their network television premieres.
Halloween Wars returns on Sunday, September 13, at 9 p.m. ET/PT with a two-hour premiere. Hosted by Jonathan Bennett, the season features a “Back from the Dead” theme with returning all-star pumpkin carvers, cake artists, and sugar masters. Judges Shinmin Li and Andrew Fuller will evaluate the team entries throughout the season to award a $30,000 grand prize.
The initial episode of Halloween Wars begins with head-to-head battles followed by an elimination round. Along with the television broadcasts, social media content using #HalloweenWars will feature host Jonathan Bennett participating in mini-challenges, alongside baking tips from the judges. Super Delicious produces the series for the network.
Halloween Baking Championship premieres on Monday, September 14, at 9 p.m. ET/PT with a two-hour episode. Hosted by John Henson in the role of curator, the season is set in the Museum of Unnatural History, where exhibits inspire the baking challenges. Ten contestants will compete for a $25,000 prize.
Judges Stephanie Boswell, Aarti Sequeira, and Zac Young will score the baking challenges throughout the season. In the premiere episode, bakers will create desserts based on personal Halloween memories for a $1,000 reward and immunity, while bottom competitors face an elimination challenge involving mask-inspired desserts. Sonic Dog produces the series, with additional behind-the-scenes content shared via #HalloweenBakingChampionship.
