Boston Harbor Auctions will hold “A Grand Nautical Antiques Auction” on Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern. The sale will feature more than 450 lots of nautical antiques, maritime instruments, shipboard equipment and historical naval artifacts.
Among the featured items is a collection of British Royal Navy memorabilia from the Jason Pilalas Collection. It includes ship’s bells, naval treadplates, badges and other items associated with vessels that served in the Royal Navy.
The auction also includes 27 engine order telegraphs and 20 ship’s binnacles. Engine order telegraphs were used to send commands between a vessel’s bridge and engine room, while binnacles housed magnetic compasses. Other offerings include more than 60 maritime lanterns, over 30 compasses, 17 ship’s bells, about 75 ship models and ship’s wheels.
“This auction brings together a diverse selection of maritime antiques, including British Royal Navy artifacts, navigational instruments and shipboard equipment that reflect the history of seafaring,” said Larry Lannan of Boston Harbor Auctions.
Boston Harbor Auctions is at 483 Washington St., Norwell, Massachusetts. Online bidding is available, along with telephone and absentee bidding. Catalog access and bidding details are available on the Boston Harbor Auctions website.
