Norah Jones and Chris Stapleton have released a new holiday song titled “April’s Gone.” Written by Jones and producer Leon Michels, the track tells the story of a fading relationship seeking a seasonal spark.

Jones previously collaborated with Michels on her 2021 holiday album, I Dream Of Christmas, and her 2024 studio album, Visions. After writing the new single, Jones reached out to Stapleton with the help of harmonica player Mickey Raphael.

In addition to the single release, Jones announced the November 27 release of Playing Along, Volume 2 as a Black Friday Record Store Day exclusive. Pressed on red vinyl and available only at independent record stores, the LP features guest performances recorded during her podcast, Norah Jones Is Playing Along.

The upcoming collection includes collaborations with Lucinda Williams, Jason Isbell, Joshua Homme, Lucius, Meshell Ndegeocello, Ron Carter, Bill Frisell, and Josh Groban. Track selections range from covers like “Somethin’ Stupid” with Joshua Homme to “The Price Of The Ticket” with Meshell Ndegeocello.

Since her debut with the 2002 album Come Away With Me, Jones has won ten Grammy Awards and sold more than 53 million albums worldwide. Her career spans multiple solo releases, collaborative side projects, and her ongoing musician interview podcast series.
