Matchbox Twenty announced a 52-date North American tour this week to celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary. The tour begins May 15 at Coca-Cola Amphitheater in Birmingham, Alabama.
Promoted by Live Nation, the tour will visit amphitheaters and arenas across the U.S. and Canada. Stops include Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Moody Center in Austin, Texas, and RBC Amphitheatre in Toronto. The All-American Rejects, The Wallflowers, David Gray, O.A.R., Matt Nathanson and The Lucky will join the band as special guests on select dates.
The tour is the centerpiece of a yearlong anniversary celebration. It began Monday with a one-night-only show at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, where the band played songs from its debut album, “Yourself or Someone Like You,” along with other fan favorites. Matchbox Twenty will perform Wednesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The band also will play Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, on Sunday, April 25, ahead of the tour.
An artist presale begins Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 5 p.m. local time. Fans can sign up for presale access on the tour dates page of the band’s website. A Reserved by Spotify presale for eligible Spotify Premium top fans buying tickets at Ticketmaster venues starts the same day at 10 a.m. local time.
Additional presales will run throughout the week. General sale begins Friday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. local time through the band’s website, matchboxtwenty.com.
