Foo Fighters will perform a special benefit concert Jan. 14 at the Kia Forum to support Hope the Mission and Los Angeles Mission, two organizations long backed by Dave and Jordyn Grohl and the band.

The concert’s only pre-sale opportunity will take place Sunday, Dec. 7, during an in-person donation drive at the Forum. Fans who wish to participate must bring at least one item from the following list requested by Hope the Mission: new packaged socks and underwear for men, women or children; dried pinto beans; pasta; or dried rice. Canned and perishable goods will not be accepted.

All donations and proceeds from the concert will directly support both nonprofits in providing food, clothing, shelter and services to people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity across Los Angeles.

“Dave, Jordyn, and Foo Fighters are a striking example of what’s possible when we decide to show up and give back,” Rowan Vansleve, president of Hope the Mission, said in a statement. “This concert will be more than just a celebration, it’s a statement that it will take all of us working together to end homelessness in our city so that no one is left suffering on our streets.”

“The impact of this event goes far beyond one night of incredible music,” added Dennis Oleesky, CEO of Los Angeles Mission. “Every ticket purchased and every donation will directly help feed and house our unhoused neighbors. We’re honored Foo Fighters are joining to bring real help and real hope to people across Los Angeles.”

The show coincides with Dave Grohl’s 57th birthday, a date the frontman says he hopes will inspire generosity among fans.

“What better way to spend my 57th birthday than making a bunch of noise with a bunch of friends for a good cause,” Grohl said. “This ain’t just a big ass rock show, it’s a big ass party with a heart. Turn up the volume, turn up the hope, but most of all… TURN UP. The best gift is TO GIVE.”
