Ale-8-One has re-released its seasonal Pawpaw Ale-8 soda across Kentucky and surrounding regional states. The limited-edition clear soda is flavored with locally sourced pawpaw, a tropical fruit native to Kentucky often called the Kentucky Banana.
The flavor was developed in partnership with Kentucky State University, which operates a full-time pawpaw research program. The recipe uses real sugar and natural flavors without added dyes.
The return of the Pawpaw flavor coincides with the company’s 100th anniversary celebration, scheduled for August 1 in downtown Winchester, Kentucky. The beverage company was founded in 1902, and its flagship drink has been bottled in Winchester since 1926.
Pawpaw Ale-8 is sold in four-packs at major retailers and specialty partners for a limited time. The beverage is also available on fountain exclusively at Windy Corner Market in Lexington, Kentucky.
First introduced in July 2025, the Pawpaw flavor sold out within weeks during its initial release. The company expanded distribution to neighboring states this year to meet consumer demand during its centennial year.
