Rita’s Italian Ice and Frozen Custard is launching a new limited-time flavor based on the traditional Shirley Temple beverage. The new menu item combines sweet cherry and citrus flavors into a frozen treat. The Italian ice will be available starting July 20 at participating store locations.
The new flavor will feature a shimmering topping called Shirley Sparkle, which recreates the visual appeal of the original beverage without the carbonation. Visitors can order the new flavor on its own or choose from three specialized combination options. These menu variants include layered gelati, blended frozen beverages, and shakes mixed with vanilla frozen custard.
The proprietary line features the Shirley Temple Ice Gelati, which layers the new Italian ice with vanilla frozen custard. The Shirley Temple Ice Blender mixes the treat into a smooth drink, while the Shirley Temple Misto Shake blends the custard and ice together. The promotional rollout represents the start of a broader summer marketing campaign planned by the company for the remainder of the month.
The company prepares its signature Italian ice fresh daily on-site, drawing from a rotating selection of more than 80 established flavors. The broader menu across the chain also features concretes, frozen coffee, customized blended items, and traditional milkshakes.
Customers can access these new options alongside ongoing loyalty rewards through the company’s mobile application. The digital platform offers a complimentary small treat to new members following their initial purchase, alongside birthday rewards and exclusive app offers.
