Maruchan is partnering with the anime franchise Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba to launch an immersive pop-up experience called MaruMart. The activation will open in the Interactive Zone at Petco Park during San Diego Comic-Con.
Named MaruMart: Demon Slayer Konbini, the destination is modeled after the design of traditional Japanese convenience stores. The environment integrates aesthetics from the animated series and features character displays of Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and all nine Hashira.
Visitors can access interactive elements inside the space, including claw machines and curated photo opportunities. The pop-up will also offer limited-edition collaboration merchandise such as t-shirts, hoodies, and keychains.
Complimentary samples of Maruchan Yakisoba will be distributed to attendees in specially designed collaborative packaging. The menu features flavor profiles tied to specific characters, including Tanjiro’s Beef Yakisoba, Zenitsu’s Chicken Yakisoba, and Inosuke’s Spicy Chicken Yakisoba.
Katelyn Stokes, the marketing director at Maruchan, stated that the project was created to give attendees a way to celebrate anime, ramen, and Japanese culture in a single location. The brand intends for the event to connect the overlapping fan bases of both properties.
The activation is scheduled to operate from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. between July 23 and July 25, and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on July 26. The Interactive Zone is located in the Lexus Premier Lot at Petco Park, and entry is free to the public without requiring a convention badge.
