The global instrument brand Gibson has named Los Angeles-based alternative artist Black Polish as its featured musician for the June Artist Spotlight program. The initiative selects an evolving monthly roster of emerging global musicians to feature across the company’s retail events, media outlets, and social channels. Black Polish, the performance moniker for Jayden “Jay” Binnix, performs using the Kramer SM-1 H, Kramer SM-1, and Gibson Hummingbird instruments.

The recognition follows the late 2025 release of the sophomore concept album, YUNA, distributed through BMG. The record focuses on a hyperfeminine alter ego to explore themes of identity, self-reconciliation, and emotional duality. The tracks include “Lush,” “Bondage,” “Be With You,” and the single “About You/ Sunrise,” which was accompanied by an official music video.

To support the release, Black Polish scheduled an extensive North American headline tour starting in Los Angeles. The live itinerary spans major metropolitan areas including San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, and New York.

Binnix was raised in Florida and Maryland, beginning music training with childhood piano lessons before learning guitar and ukulele. Their 2020 debut grassroots single, “Sophie,” accumulated millions of streams. The artist subsequently contributed the original track “Armageddon” to the Hulu series “Love, Victor” and released a debut album titled Forest in 2024.

The ongoing 2026 Gibson Artist Spotlight lineup includes international and domestic performers such as De Nachtwacht, Night Traveler, Charlotte Sands, Corella, and verygently. The roster also features jo0ji, Ponpon, Paula Pera, Nieve Ella, Bandalos Chinos, and Last Train.
