HBO Max announces June lineup featuring House of the Dragon premiere and new Larry David project

HBO Max has finalized its broadcast lineup for June 2026, anchoring the schedule with the return of prominent drama series, new documentary productions, and recent feature films from studio distributor A24.
The month’s primary serial release is the third season of the George R.R. Martin prequel series House of the Dragon, which begins an eight-episode weekly rollout on June 21 at 9:00 p.m. ET. The season launch will debut alongside a dedicated American Sign Language track, following earlier ASL rollouts for season one on May 29 and season two on June 15. The production is also introducing a video format for its official companion podcast.
Alternative programming includes the June 26 debut of Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, a seven-episode comedy series written and executive produced by Larry David and Jeff Schaffer. Developed in collaboration with Higher Ground executive producers Barack and Michelle Obama, the narrative uses the context of America’s 250th anniversary as a baseline for appearances by David, guest stars, and select cast members from Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The documentary catalog begins June 1 with Bring Me the Beauties: A Model Cult, a three-part investigative series directed by Chris Smith that details the exploitation of young professionals within a 1980s Manhattan spiritual group. This is followed on June 7 by the Questlove-directed musical biography Earth, Wind & Fire (To Be Celestial vs. That’s The Weight Of The World).
Later in the month, filmmaker Josh Fox presents The Welcome Table on June 23, utilizing a New Orleans musical backdrop to document global climate displacement. On June 30, the public access television history project Bang My Box: The Robin Byrd Story, produced by Sarah Jessica Parker, focuses on early late-night content creation and free speech platforms in New York City.
The platform is also adding two notable narrative feature films from A24 to its digital catalog. The drama Pillion, starring Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård, becomes available on June 5. On June 19, the streaming service will add the dark comedy How to Make a Killing, featuring an ensemble cast led by Glen Powell, Margaret Qualley, and Ed Harris.
