HGTV has announced the return of its “Crashers” franchise, a high-energy renovation series that surprises unsuspecting homeowners with a free, 72-hour transformation of a room in their home.

The 13-episode season, which premieres Monday, June 8, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, features home restoration expert and New Kids on the Block member Jonathan Knight. The series utilizes an ambush-style format where Knight approaches people at hardware stores, furniture boutiques, and paint shops to offer a rapid-paced renovation.

Homeowners who accept the offer must adhere to three specific rules: the project starts immediately, the owners have no input on the design, and they must vacate the property for the full three days of construction.

“Everyone has that one space that really needs work. But they have no time, no money and no idea where to start—and that’s where I come in,” Knight said. “I love a challenge and especially one that’s going to change someone’s life in 72 hours.”

The premiere episode takes place in Folsom, California, where Knight meets a homeowner at a hardware store and executes a total kitchen renovation for a family of five. Working with a team of designers, Knight demos the space to the studs to install new appliances, optimized storage, and custom seating within the 72-hour window.

Produced by Big Table Media, “Crashers” will be available for streaming on HBO Max the day after each episode airs on cable.
