Five For Fighting announces fall string quartet tour featuring Broadway musicians
Grammy-nominated artist Five For Fighting, the moniker of singer-songwriter John Ondrasik, announced on Wednesday a new string quartet tour scheduled for September and October.
The tour features a backing ensemble of prominent Broadway musicians, including Tony Award-winning concertmaster Katie Kresek, violinist Melissa Tong, violist Chris Cardona, and cellist Peter Sachon. The format is designed to allow Ondrasik to share stories behind his songs and perform deeper cuts from his catalog in an intimate setting.
“I’m excited to be returning to the beautiful Northeast for another Five for Fighting with String Quartet Tour this fall,” Ondrasik said. “We look forward to sharing new songs, stories, and surprises along with the core tunes and special arrangements from my catalogue.”
Folk-rock duo Lace & Lee will return as the opening act following their 2025 tour appearance.
Ondrasik, known for hits like “Superman (It’s Not Easy)” and “100 Years,” has recently focused on humanitarian efforts, including writing songs in response to global events.
